CVE-2024-25254Public exploit

Application crash via oversized Hostname/IP input

Published Nov 11, 2024 · Updated Nov 19, 2024

Stack buffer overflow in Foundstone SuperScan 4.1 allows local users to crash the application through the Hostname/IP field. The Hostname/IP input path accepts a 636-character value without enforcing the destination buffer's capacity, overrunning a stack buffer. The user must paste the crafted value and activate the adjacent arrow control; the demonstrated consequence is an application crash, not code execution.
