CVE-2024-25152Network attack vector

Stored XSS via unescaped attachment filename

Published Feb 21, 2024 · Updated Aug 26, 2024

Stored XSS in Liferay Portal and DXP Message Boards allows remote authenticated users to execute script through attachment filenames. Message Boards stores an attacker-controlled attachment filename and renders it without neutralizing active HTML or script markup. A user permitted to post attachments can persist code that runs when another user views the affected message, enabling actions in that viewer's browser context.
