Stored XSS via unescaped notification template data
Published Feb 21, 2024 · Updated Aug 1, 2024
Stored XSS in Liferay Portal and Liferay DXP Calendar notification emails allows remote authenticated users to inject script or HTML. The default notification template inserts an event title or user name into the email body without escaping attacker-controlled markup. Exploitation requires authenticated content changes and a recipient mail client that renders the resulting HTML, enabling content spoofing or client-side script execution.
