Stored XSS via unescaped search results
Published Feb 7, 2024 · Updated Aug 22, 2024
Stored XSS in Liferay Portal and DXP's Search Result app allows remote authenticated users to inject script through searchable content. When result highlighting is disabled, the app renders attacker-controlled searchable content without neutralizing script or HTML. A victim must view the poisoned result, allowing code to run in that user's browser context and read or alter accessible page data.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
