CVE-2024-25144Network attack vector

Page-rendering hang via self-referencing IFrame

Published Feb 8, 2024 · Updated Oct 2, 2024

Denial of service in Liferay Portal 7.2.0 through 7.4.3.26 and affected Liferay DXP releases allows remote authenticated users to hang page rendering. The IFrame widget accepts its own page URL without validation, causing the page to load itself recursively in an infinite loop. Exploitation requires an authenticated user to configure the widget and another user to view the page; the reported consequence is an availability interruption, not data access or modification.
