CVE-2024-25123Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Unauthenticated file read via path traversal

Published Feb 15, 2024 · Updated Aug 28, 2024

Path traversal in Open-MSS Mission Support System 5.0.0 through 8.3.2 allows remote attackers to read host files via a crafted URL. The /mss/code/path:filename route passes its untrusted filename segment to os.path.join and get_content without confining the result to the code directory. No authentication or user interaction is required; a traversal such as ../ causes the server to return readable files outside that directory.
