Subscriber-level plugin installation via missing capability check
Published Jun 9, 2024 · Updated Apr 28, 2026
Missing authorization in NextMove Lite 2.17.0 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to install and activate arbitrary plugins. The xl_addon_installation function accepts a plugin installation request without checking the caller's WordPress capabilities. Subscriber access is sufficient to invoke the action, causing attacker-selected plugin code to be installed and activated on the site.
