Malware escape via file-format detection bypass
Published Mar 1, 2024 · Updated Aug 5, 2024
Protection failure in RevoWorks SCVX before scvimage4.10.21_1013 and Browser before 2.2.95 allows attackers to move malware outside the sandbox. VirusChecker and ThreatChecker fail to detect malware inside eml, dmg, vhd, iso, and msi files, and the download policy then treats those files as safe for transfer. Reachability requires either optional checker and a policy permitting checked-file downloads, exposing the local environment to malware.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
