Stored XSS via unescaped form placeholder
Published Apr 5, 2024 · Updated Aug 1, 2024
Stored XSS in Kadence Blocks before 3.2.26 allows remote authenticated users to execute script through a crafted form placeholder. The kadence/advanced-form-text block places its placeholder option into rendered input markup without sufficient validation or output escaping. Contributor access is required to save the crafted block, and script runs when another user previews or views the post; CISA also lists Editor Blocks by Download Manager before 3.2.26 without publishing a product-specific mechanism.
