CVE-2024-25053Network attack vector

Trusted-server spoofing via improper certificate validation

Published Jun 28, 2024 · Updated Nov 3, 2025

Improper certificate validation in IBM Cognos Analytics 11.2.0 through 11.2.4 and 12.0.0 through 12.0.2 allows attackers to spoof a trusted server. The Planning Analytics Data Source Connection does not correctly validate the peer certificate before trusting the server endpoint. Exploitation requires a man-in-the-middle position between the Cognos Analytics and Planning Analytics servers and permits modification of exchanged data.
