CVE-2024-25050

Administrator code execution via unqualified library call

Published Apr 28, 2024 · Updated Aug 1, 2024

Local privilege escalation in IBM Power platform and Rational Development Studio 7.2 through 7.5 allows local users to run administrator code. Networking and compiler components call a CL command without a library-qualified path, allowing resolution to user-controlled code. Local access is required; successful exploitation runs attacker-controlled code with administrator privileges.
