Browser script execution via unvalidated Exploration headings
Published Dec 18, 2024 · Updated Dec 18, 2024
XSS in IBM Cognos Analytics 11.2.0 through 11.2.4 and 12.0.0 through 12.0.3 allows remote authenticated users to execute browser script. Cognos Explorations fails to validate column-heading content before rendering it in a user's browser, allowing attacker-supplied script to enter the page. A low-privilege session and user interaction are required; execution is confined to the victim's browser context and can read or alter accessible page data.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=11.2.0 <=11.2.4
