SYSTEM code execution via unvalidated file paths
Published Apr 19, 2024 · Updated Dec 16, 2025
Path traversal in Ivanti Avalanche WLAvalancheService before 6.4.3 allows remote authenticated users to execute code as SYSTEM. The service listens on TCP port 1777 by default and uses a user-supplied path in file operations without validating that it remains in an allowed directory. Valid Avalanche credentials are required, and successful exploitation grants SYSTEM-level command execution on the server.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
