Uncontrolled resource consumption in Mattermost allows remote authenticated users to crash the server via oversized custom-status emoji values. The custom-status update path accepts an unbounded emoji string and repeatedly processes attacker-supplied oversized values without enforcing a length limit. A logged-in user must repeatedly submit the values; resource consumption can degrade service or terminate the server process.
