Contributor-level stored XSS via unsanitized shortcode attributes
Published Feb 12, 2024 · Updated Apr 28, 2026
Stored XSS in Arūnas Liuiza Content Cards 0.9.7 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute script via crafted shortcode attributes. The shortcode handler insufficiently sanitizes user-supplied attributes and fails to escape them before rendering the resulting card. Contributor-level access is required to save the shortcode, and execution requires another user to view the affected post, running script under the site's origin.
