Code execution via out-of-bounds MODEL parsing
Published Feb 13, 2024 · Updated May 9, 2025
Out-of-bounds read in Siemens Simcenter Femap before V2306.0001 or V2401.0000 allows remote attackers to execute code via a Catia MODEL file. The CatiaV4_2022_2 executable processes attacker-controlled MODEL data without adequate validation and reads before an allocated structure. Exploitation requires a user to open the file or visit attacker-controlled content, after which code runs in the current process.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
