Arbitrary code execution via Catia MODEL buffer overwrite
Published Feb 13, 2024 · Updated Nov 7, 2024
Out-of-bounds write in Siemens Simcenter Femap before 2401.0000 allows local users to execute code via a crafted Catia MODEL file. The Catia MODEL parser writes past the end of an allocated buffer while processing attacker-controlled model data. Exploitation requires a user to open the malicious file and runs code with the privileges of the current Femap process.
