CVE-2024-24916

Administrator code execution via installer DLL search

Published Jun 19, 2025 · Updated Jun 20, 2025

DLL search-path hijacking in Check Point SmartConsole R81.10 and R81.20 allows local users to execute code with installer privileges. The installer searches its directory for DLL dependencies and loads an attacker-controlled library there without restricting resolution to trusted paths. A local user with high privileges must place the DLL and induce an administrator to run the installer; the resulting code runs with administrator rights.
