CVE-2024-24908Network attack vector

Arbitrary file deletion via path traversal

Published May 8, 2024 · Updated Aug 1, 2024

Path traversal in Dell PowerProtect DM5500 5.15.0.0 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to delete arbitrary server files. Dell identifies proprietary code as the affected component but does not disclose the request handler, parameter, or path-validation failure. High-privilege appliance credentials and network access are required; deletion can remove server-resident files and interrupt appliance operation.
