Authenticated code execution via unchecked schedule copy
Published Mar 15, 2024 · Updated Aug 1, 2024
Stack-based buffer overflow in Tenda AC18 15.03.05.05 allows remote authenticated users to execute code through a crafted Wi-Fi schedule. In setSchedWifi, strcpy copies the POST schedEndTime value into a 25-byte stack buffer at a 10-byte offset without a length check. A valid management session is required; oversized input corrupts the stack, enabling a router crash or redirected execution.
