CVE-2024-24891

Local information disclosure via uninitialized TCM buffer

Published Apr 15, 2024 · Updated Aug 20, 2024

Information disclosure in openEuler Kernel from 4.19.90-2109.1.0.0108 before 4.19.90-2403.4.0.0244 allows local users to read kernel memory. The tcm_open function in drivers/staging/gmjstcm/tcm.c allocates a per-file data buffer with kmalloc but does not clear its prior contents before use. Exploitation requires high local privileges and access to the TCM 1.0 driver, and the resulting impact is limited to confidentiality.
