Admin-notice dismissal via missing nonce validation
Published Feb 21, 2024 · Updated Apr 28, 2026
Cross-site request forgery in Admin Menu Editor 1.12 and earlier allows remote attackers to dismiss an admin notice via a forged request. The ajax_hide_hint() handler records the Upgrade to Pro panel as hidden without validating a request nonce. A site administrator must remain authenticated and be induced to open attacker-controlled content; the consequence is limited to dismissing that notice.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
