CVE-2024-24856

System crash via unchecked ACPI allocation

Published Apr 17, 2024 · Updated Aug 1, 2024

NULL pointer dereference in the Anolis OS kernel before 6.9 allows local users to crash the system through the ACPI debugger. AcpiDbConvertToPackage dereferences the Elements pointer after ACPI_ALLOCATE_ZEROED returns NULL instead of checking allocation success. Exploitation requires low-privileged local access, user interaction, and an allocation failure; the reported consequence is availability loss.
