Stored XSS via unescaped review metadata
Published Feb 5, 2024 · Updated Apr 28, 2026
Stored XSS in Five Star Restaurant Reviews 2.3.5 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute script in a visitor's browser. The review renderer outputs a stored review meta field into generated page markup without context-appropriate escaping. An authenticated user must store crafted review metadata, and another user must view the affected review, exposing data and actions available to that visitor's WordPress session.
