CVE-2024-2483Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Account lockout via tokenless password-change request

Published Mar 15, 2024 · Updated Aug 26, 2024

Cross-site request forgery in Surya2Developer Hostel Management System 1.0 allows remote attackers to change a user's password. The authenticated change-password.php form accepts a cookie-backed POST without a CSRF token and validates oldpassword against any database row rather than the current user's row. A logged-in user must visit attacker-controlled content; a known password for any account then lets the forged request replace the victim's password and remove account access.
