CVE-2024-24808Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Phishing redirects via malformed login next URLs

Published Feb 6, 2024 · Updated May 9, 2025

Open redirect in pyLoad 0.4.20 and earlier allows remote attackers to send users to arbitrary domains through the login flow. The web UI's get_redirect_url passes the attacker-controlled next value through is_safe_url, whose urlparse-based host check treats https:///example.com as relative before redirect normalization makes it external. A victim must follow the crafted login URL and complete authentication; the resulting redirect can support phishing but does not alter pyLoad data or availability.
