Arbitrary code execution via linker library loading
Published May 8, 2024 · Updated Feb 13, 2025
Command injection in Google Cloud Go command before 1.21.10 and 1.22.0 through 1.22.2 allows attackers to execute code during macOS builds. cmd/go accepts an attacker-controlled -lto_library argument from a #cgo LDFLAGS directive and passes it to Apple ld, which loads and executes the named library. Exploitation requires a user with CGO enabled to build the crafted module on Darwin; code runs with that user's build privileges.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
