CVE-2024-24780Network attack vector

Authenticated code execution via unrestricted UDF URI

Published May 14, 2025 · Updated Feb 26, 2026

Code injection in Apache IoTDB 1.0.0 through 1.3.3 allows remote authenticated users to execute code through a UDF JAR URI. The CREATE FUNCTION path accepts a remote URI, downloads its JAR, and loads attacker-supplied classes into the IoTDB process without restricting the URI to trusted locations. Exploitation requires an authenticated account with USE_UDF permission; successful registration runs malicious Java code with the server process's privileges.
