Mailbox flooding via unlimited MFA reset emails
Published Jun 17, 2026 · Updated Jun 17, 2026
Uncontrolled resource consumption in vantage6 before 5.0.0 allows remote authenticated users to flood mailboxes through MFA resets. The MFA-reset API accepts repeated requests with a correct password and sends an email for each request without rate limiting. A valid user password and configured SMTP service are required; repeated requests burden the mail server and can damage its sender reputation.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
