Remote code execution via Twig template injection
Published Apr 3, 2024 · Updated Aug 16, 2024
Server-side template injection in Gibbon 26.0.00 and earlier allows attackers to execute code through a crafted Messenger signature template. The Messenger Settings process exempts signatureTemplate from sanitization, stores the submitted value, and later renders it through Twig. Access to the guarded Messenger Settings action is required; successful exploitation executes commands with the web application account's privileges.
