Code execution via unsafe Artifact.get pickle loading
Published Feb 6, 2024 · Updated Jun 17, 2025
Deserialization in Allegro AI ClearML client SDK 0.17.0 through 1.14.2 allows remote authenticated users to execute code via an artifact. Artifact.get downloads an attacker-supplied pickle and passes it to Python's pickle loader, which invokes embedded reconstruction code without validation. The attacker must upload the artifact to a reachable project, and code runs only when a user retrieves the artifact into memory.
