CVE-2024-24578Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Root code execution via unauthenticated archive extraction

Published Mar 18, 2024 · Updated Aug 26, 2024

Path traversal in RaspberryMatic/OCCU before 3.75.6.20240316 allows remote attackers to execute code as root through a firmware upload. FirmwareUploadRouteHandler skips session validation, and DeviceFirmwareController extracts attacker-supplied tar entry names without removing ../ sequences. The unauthenticated HTTPS endpoint can overwrite the scheduled watchdog script, giving the uploaded code root privileges and control of the hub.
