Authenticated service interruption via crafted pins request
Published May 9, 2024 · Updated Oct 3, 2024
Denial of service in the GitLab pins endpoint allows remote authenticated users to interrupt affected GitLab CE/EE instances. GitLab has not published which operation in the pins endpoint consumes resources without limits when it processes untrusted input. A valid low-privileged account is required; successful requests exhaust resources and interrupt service without reported data exposure or modification.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=15.11 <16.9.7
- Affected versionversion=16.10 <16.10.5
