CVE-2024-24511Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Stored script execution via unneutralized publication title

Published Mar 1, 2024 · Updated Aug 6, 2024

Stored XSS in Public Knowledge Project Open Journal Systems 3.4 allows remote authenticated users to run scripts via a publication title. The publication form stores title input without neutralizing script markup and later renders the stored value when the publication is reopened. The published proof of concept requires an administrator to save the title and a later page view to trigger execution in the viewer's browser context, exposing data or actions available to that session.
