Stored XSS via administrator email field
Published Apr 3, 2024 · Updated Aug 15, 2024
Stored XSS in LimeSurvey Community Edition 5.3.32+220817 allows remote attackers to execute JavaScript in an administrator's browser. The General Settings administrator email field accepts HTML and event-handler syntax, stores it in the database, and renders it without effective neutralization. Injection requires access to General Settings, and execution occurs when an administrator saves or reloads the page, exposing that browser session to cookie or token theft.
