Authenticated root command execution via CGI eval
Published Mar 22, 2024 · Updated Nov 15, 2024
OS command injection in Progress Software LoadMaster allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary commands as root through the Admin WUI. The /progs/hg_cfg/add_rs/ Bash CGI handler base64-decodes and stores attacker input, which showRSSelection_T later passes directly to eval. Any WUI account can reach the endpoint, and injected shell metacharacters or command substitution grant full control of the appliance.
