Cellular service interruption via malformed E-RAB messages

Invalid memory access in HPE Athonet Core 11.4.0 allows remote attackers to interrupt cellular service via crafted S1AP messages. The legacy MME mishandles the ProtocolIE_ID field in an E-RAB Setup List Context SURes message, performs an invalid memory access, and terminates processing. Exploitation requires repeated network connections and crafted payloads to the RAN-core interface; affected 11.2 through 11.6 deployments must also run the MME (OLD) process, and successful attacks deny cellular network service.
