Authenticated code execution via unrestricted PHP upload
Published Jan 25, 2024 · Updated Jun 5, 2025
Unrestricted file upload in LEPTON CMS 7.0.0 allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary PHP code through the language manager. The backend/languages/index.php language manager accepts an upgrade.php file containing executable PHP and installs it without rejecting the dangerous file type. Administrative credentials and an explicit install action are required; successful exploitation runs attacker-supplied commands with the web server process's privileges.
