Authenticated code execution via Task Manager script field
Published Feb 15, 2024 · Updated Aug 19, 2024
Command injection in VitalPBX 3.2.4-5 allows remote authenticated users with Task Manager access to execute arbitrary OS code. The Task Manager Cron Profile script field accepts a base64-encoded reverse-shell payload as a script filename and executes it from /var/lib/vitalpbx/scripts. Exploitation requires elevated web-interface permissions and a script already present in that directory; successful execution yields a shell on the PBX host.
