Client-side command execution via unneutralized CSV formulas
Published Feb 12, 2024 · Updated Sep 29, 2025
CSV injection in Koha 23.05.05 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute DDE commands through exported patron or budget data. The patron and budget components preserve formula-leading staff input in CSV cells without neutralizing it before export. Exploitation requires a victim to export and open the file in a spreadsheet with macro security disabled, enabling programs to launch on that endpoint.
