Authenticated code execution via log path traversal
Published Jun 14, 2024 · Updated Aug 21, 2024
Path traversal in CloudPanel Community Edition 2.0.0 through 2.4.0 allows remote authenticated users to read files and execute code. The load-logfiles function uses the attacker-controlled service parameter as a filesystem path without restricting traversal outside the log directory. A lowest-privilege CloudPanel account is sufficient, and successful traversal can expose server files and compromise other sessions, including administrators.
