Privilege escalation in Canimaan Software Ltd. ClamXAV 3.1.2 through 3.6.1 allows local users to execute code with system privileges. The Privileged Helper Tool insufficiently validates the requesting client before accepting operations that execute with elevated rights. A local low-privileged user must be able to invoke the installed helper; successful exploitation grants system-level code execution.
