CVE-2024-2424Network attack vector

Remote service interruption via malformed PTP packet

Published Apr 15, 2024 · Updated Aug 1, 2024

Improper input validation in Rockwell Automation 5015-AENFTXT firmware 2.011 allows remote attackers to fault the secondary adapter. The PTP input path accepts a malformed packet, but Rockwell has not disclosed the affected parser, field, or failed validation operation. No authentication or user interaction is required; the resulting major nonrecoverable fault interrupts operation until a manual restart.
