CVE-2024-24146Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Process interruption via unreleased DEFINEBUTTON allocations

Published Feb 28, 2024 · Updated Mar 27, 2025

Memory leak in LibMing 0.4.8 allows context-dependent attackers to interrupt a consuming process by supplying a crafted SWF file. parseSWF_DEFINEBUTTON allocates and repeatedly reallocates its Characters and Actions arrays while parsing button records but never frees those heap buffers. The crafted file must be processed by a LibMing-based parser, and repeated processing consumes memory until the affected process is interrupted.
