Stored script execution via unsanitized user names
Published Mar 20, 2024 · Updated Nov 4, 2024
Stored XSS in Sourcecodester Workout Journal App 1.0 allows remote attackers to execute script through crafted user names. /add-user.php accepts the firstname and lastname parameters for a user record, and later pages render those stored values without neutralizing script content. Exploitation requires a victim to view the affected record; the script then runs in that victim's browser context and can alter displayed application content.
