CVE-2024-24043Public exploit

Arbitrary code execution via unchecked ZIP paths

Published Mar 19, 2024 · Updated Aug 28, 2024

Path traversal in MCRPX 1.4.0 and earlier allows local users to execute arbitrary code by extracting a crafted ZIP file. ZipUtil.extractZip resolves attacker-controlled ZipEntry names beneath the chosen destination and writes them without rejecting ".." components. A user must supply and extract the malicious archive, whose entries can escape the destination and place executable content elsewhere on the host.
