Stored script execution via unsanitized location
Published Feb 1, 2024 · Updated May 29, 2025
Stored XSS in Travel Journal Using PHP and MySQL 1.0 allows remote attackers to execute scripts through the location field. The write-journal.php workflow saves the location value without adequate sanitization and later renders it in the Read Journal view. A victim must open the stored journal entry; the script then runs in the affected site's browser context and can access session data.
