Unauthenticated file upload via crafted filename
Published Feb 8, 2024 · Updated Apr 24, 2025
Unrestricted file upload in Novel-Plus 4.3.0-RC1 and earlier allows remote attackers to place files through a crafted filename. The uploadImg method in SysUserController accepts the crafted filename, although the public record inconsistently describes the resulting operation as an arbitrary file download. No credentials or user interaction are required, but public sources do not establish the uploaded file's destination or whether server-side execution follows.
