CVE-2024-23976

Administrator escape via iAppsLX template processing

Published Feb 14, 2024 · Updated Aug 1, 2024

Privilege restriction bypass in affected F5 BIG-IP releases allows local users with Administrator access to escape Appliance mode. An iAppsLX template can circumvent controls that deny advanced shell access, but F5 has not disclosed the faulty template-processing operation. The system must run in Appliance mode, and exploitation requires an authenticated Administrator; success exposes data and permits system changes without interrupting service.
