CVE-2024-23971Known exploitationPublic exploit

Adjacent unauthenticated root code execution via OCPP bswitch

Published Jan 30, 2025 · Updated Aug 26, 2025

Command injection in all versions of ChargePoint Home Flex allows network-adjacent attackers to execute arbitrary code as root. The RouteToFsmInstance() handler in /usr/bin/mcp passes the command field from an OCPP bswitch payload directly to system() without validation. An attacker must intercept the charger's cloud WebSocket traffic and send a crafted bswitch message; execution triggers a reboot, but injected commands run first with root privileges.
